Sarit Catz is that rare breed – a TRULY FUNNY GIRL COMIC. She has played numerous comedy clubs including The Comic Strip, Stand-Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar, New York Comedy Club, Boston Comedy Club, Rascals Montclair, Palisades and West Orange, Jenkinson’s, Uncle Floyd’s, Yuk-Yuk's, Diva Lounge and many, many, many, many others not worth mentioning. Sarit is performing in and producing the ongoing show "GIRLS GONE FUNNY." She has won "CLASH OF THE COMICS" three times and was a semi-finalist in "THE GREAT CANADIAN LAUGH-OFF" - and she's from New Jersey!!

Sarit began her comedy career in radio, creating, writing and producing three award-winning comedy services for ABC Radio Networks and as well as other nationally syndicated services. Her jokes, voices, song-parodies, fake commercials and other bits aired in every market in the nation on top stations from New York’s Z-100 and WPLJ to LA’s KLOS.

After her success in radio, Sarit set out to conquer the television world as a writer/producer. Her credits include Coach, Full House, Soul Man, Talk To Me, The Crew, Café Americain, and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. She has worked with top stars including Dan Aykroyd, John Goodman, Valerie Bertinelli, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, Craig T. Nelson, John Stamos, Bob Saget, Anthony Clark, Peter Scolari, and the Olsen Twins. Sarit created two original series, Girls’ Night for UPN and Click for Big Ticket Television, a division of Spelling Entertainment.

Sarit's independently-produced TV pilot, "What She's Having," screened as part of the New York Television Festival, the industry's most prestigious indie festival, and in the Big Apple Film Festival.  Another project, "Comic Belief," is screening as part of the NewFilmmakers Spring Screening Series and won the Windsor Prize for Arts in Film.  Sarit's latest project, "Marino's" is currently being pitched to studios and networks.  On the festival circuit, "Marino's" has already won the Indie Award of Merit, Honorable Mention at the L.A. Reel Film Festival, The Accolade Award, and the Garden State Film Festival Home Grown Award.

In the feature film arena, Sarit wrote and sold options on two original screenplays which are currently being marketed to studios by producers. She has won three (3) Writers’ Guild of America Awards and was named a semi-finalist in the ScriptapaloozaTV screenwriting contest.  Sarit also teaches sitcom writing at Columbia University's Graduate Filmmaking Program, the People's Improv Theater and TV writing at The Learning Annex and the Screenwriting Expo.

That's me, Kimmy Gatewood (one of my stars), my director Matthew C. Johnson, and (my other star) Canedy Knowles at the New York Television Festival with "What She's Having," where we kicked butt!  We didn't win but we totally should have.

I am teaching another Sitcom Writing Class at the P.I.T. this summer.  However, it is SOLD OUT.  Don't despair, I will teach another one and you should definitely get yourself on the wait list because, not to toot my own horn, but they always sell out fast.  Toot.
